Free SMS to Philippines Using Google Talk or Gmail Chat

You can always do this using Chikka, and now with the convenience of your Google Talk or Gmail Chat, you can now send SMS to Globe/Smart/Sun mobile phones in the Philippines.

To send to a mobile phone, simply add a new contact on your Google Talk client or Gmail Chat, using the format 639xxxxxxxxx@chikkatalk.com.

I just tried it and it works both in Google Talk client and in Gmail Chat.

This is possible as Chikka joins Google Talk and other federation of Service Providers who support the industry standard XMPP server-to-server communication.

It works!!! i dunno y chika has been down for 3 days now or it could b that our network system is just blocking the website. so i had to check on this 1 & it does work. the instruction is so simple = anybody can follow it.

LIMITED TEXT MESSAGE

Hi,

I used gmail chat for sending txt mssgs to my friends, after sending 4 mssgs a mssg appeared that (mobile number) did not receive your mssg. Is there any limit for sending mssgs and if then how many I can send in 1 day per friend.

Regarding sending sms thru' gmail client

hi,
suppose if i need to send an sms to a guy @ Philippines of his mobile say 91334545323, if i add the contact as 6391334545323@chikkatalk.com how come the destination could approve my friend request. How could it be possible to send sms from gmail. Can u explain in brief of how could this be achieved. If u feel free, mail me to michael.lenox@gmail.com.
